Part P

In January 2005 the Government introduced electrical safety rules for dwellings into the Building Regulations for England and Wales.

What does Part P mean?

Most electrical work carried out on a domestic /commercial property needs to be proven that it is safe. This can only be achieved through either Part P inspection and test or by Minor Work Certification carried out by an approved Part P electrician.

Who is responsible for making sure that electrical work meets Part P standards?

By law all homeowners and landlords must be able to prove that electrical installation system meets Part P standards, otherwise they will be committing a criminal offence.

We advice and recommend that you use a Part P registered electrician for your own safety and peace of mind.

Sometimes under inspections we have to remove spot lights, lights and socket outlets that have not been undone or moved in many years. This, sometimes may cause paint to be chipped around the electrical outlets.

We simply do not give out certifications just for the sake of giving them out. We will only give a Safety Certification once it passes. Fail or pass, we have to charge the agreed price.
